Packing for Camp
In a camp box with a lock (an extra key or the combination must be given to the
Scoutmaster), you should have the following gear:
Camp Uniform (daily wear, 9 days)
- belt
- camp t-shirt (available at camp trading post)
- backpack and cook kit (if attending outpost camp programs)
- 3-5 pair socks
- sweater or jacket
- swim trunks
- raincoat or poncho
- extra underwear & t-shirts
- hiking shoes and expendable tennis shoes
- bath towels & soap/shampoo
- toothbrush & paste
- comb or brush
- drinking cup
- sleeping bag or bedroll, pillow
- flashlight and extra batteries
- Bible or prayer book
- Boy Scout Handbook
- notebook paper, pencils & pens
- jeans or other long pants
- bug/mosquito repellent (non-aerosol)
- hat or cap
Scout Uniform (formal wear)
- official Scout short pants
- short-sleeved Scout shirt
- Scout belt
- official socks
- neckerchief & slide
Optional Equipment
- sneakers or mocassins
- musical instrument
- sewing kit
- camera & film
- pocket knife (no sheath knives)
- suntan lotion
- clothes washing soap (small bottle or powdered biodegradable)
- sunglasses
- nylon line, clothes pins, coat hangers
- small rug or mat
- canteen
- work gloves
- stationery (stamp & address envelopes at home)
Do NOT Bring the Following:
- Fireworks
- Aerosol cans
- Sheath Knives
- Firearms or ammunition
- Irreplaceable or valuable personal items
